About Internship
An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills. It offers the employer the opportunity to bring new ideas and energy into the workplace, develop talent and potentially build a pipeline for future full-time employees.
Types of Internships
Academic Internship
Academic Internship Program is an exclusively corporate learning program created by the VTU University for new talents. This program is mandatory to all the students of VTU to be carried out. The program focuses on academic requirements of students and provide a good corporate exposure. Every student will get a chance to learn and grow with this Academic Program.
VTU has given the following set of Rules and duration of internship to complete
Non-Academic Internship
Non-Academic Internship Program is an independent corporate learning program the students will explore themselves to apply and complete in order to build their career growth and better technological skills. The program is not mandatory and can be carried out by the student anytime. Student should not be permitted to do the non-academic internship during the time of academic classes.
Procedures to be followed in successful completion of Internship Program
All internships must be registered for academic credit. The unit you enroll in for your internship experience may differ depending on the type, level, and discipline of your internship.
Talk to people and identify opportunities
Chat with people in your networks – including your academics and the SVCE Internship team to identify opportunities. You will want to research what kind of opportunities exist for someone with your skills and discipline knowledge, and think about where you want your internship to take you. Cast the net wide and ask questions to help you refine your search. You should also research organisations in the industry you are interested in to get an idea about what to expect. The students need to start a month or early for applying for internship organization. before applying make sure you will be taking the permission from your department Internship coordinator and signed using the following form-A.
